1. On-campus: Internship-PPO/Placement

1.1 Tips and Resources to ace the complete recruitment procedure:

For final-year placement: Link to a blog written by a TI recruiter himself.

For internship: Compilation of previous-year interview questions (Topics remain the same as above).

Bonus tip: If a concept is not taught to you in the university curriculum yet, you should tell so to the interviewer instead of faking an answer. For example, OPAMPs were not taught to me in the BITS Pilani curriculum before my interview and I mentioned this clearly to the interviewer when he asked me an OPAMP question.

Pro tip: Maintaining a confident posture and thinking out loud while answering the questions during your interview will set you apart from other equally technically-qualified peers.

1.2 Tips for securing a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO):

PPO procedure varies from one team to other team at TI. However, you should be prepared for the following:

Your manager/mentor submits your mid-term and end-term evaluation in terms of your technical knowledge, your start, mid, end-term project presentations, and fit for the company culture (pay attention in the onboarding-day “company culture introduction talks” at TI)

There is also a possibility of a technical interview (similar to section 1.1) in the last few weeks of your internship. They may also ask questions based on your TI internship project.

2. Off-campus: Internship-PPO/Placement

2.1 Steps to get recruited off-campus

Step 1: Request a current TI employee to refer you to TI Human Resources employee (HR). The employee will forward your resume to TI HR.

Step 2: If you pass the resume screening, you will appear for a computer-based test. (similar to section 1.1)

Step 3: If you pass the computer-based test, you are interviewed. (similar to section 1.1)

2.2 Resources: Connect with your university alumni working at TI for step 1. To start, send a LinkedIn connection request or reach out via your university’s alumni network. For steps 2 and 3, the same resources as section 1 apply.

3. University Connections

3.1 BITS Pilani

Practice School 2 (PS2): If you are an undergraduate student studying in an electronics branch at BITS Pilani, then you can fill Texas Instruments as your preference in the PS2 form. You will be selected based on your CGPA. Once you start your semester-long internship, The PPO procedure is similar to section 1.2.

3.2 IIT Madras (With inputs from Iraban Dutta)

Step 1: If you clear the GATE cut-off for the IIT Madras MS (Research Associate) program sponsored by TI, you are selected for a test and interview (similar to section 1.1). This is a link to the Google Drive folder containing sample questions.

Step 2: You will have the opportunity to intern at TI and are expected to join TI after you receive your MS degree.

3.3 IIT Delhi (With inputs from Varun Upadhyaya)

Step 1: If you clear the GATE cut-off for the IIT Delhi VDTT program (completely sponsored 2 -year program), you are interviewed (similar to section 1.1) by professors at IIT Delhi and by sponsoring companies. One of the sponsoring company is Texas Instruments (list of sponsoring companies changes with the year).

Step 2: If you clear the interview by TI, you work along with them on or off-site during the program. Your final Masters Project will be in association with TI.

You might get a PPO based on your performance at any time during your 2 year MTech program sponsored by TI.
